WE ARE HERE TO HELP

Making the decision to choose residential care – either for yourself or for your loved ones is complex and can be difficult.

It signifies change and change can be problematic. But the change to life in a nursing home can, and should, also mean the solution of many problems as well.

It leads to the reassurance that physical, emotional and mental needs will be catered for. Problems with mobility, with isolation, with medication, with nutrition can all be handled with calm, thoughtful, kindly efficiency. Handled by professionals who are skilled in understanding people and anticipating needs.

While Emerald Hill Residence may look like a hotel, it is not a hotel, nor even a retirement home. The residence is based on the household model of care, which allows residents to direct their own lives, while providing the clinical quality of care. This means that as far as possible residents are encouraged to take part in the normal tasks and routines of daily life, thus helping to maintain their enjoyment of life. So a change of address to an elegant new home, will be something to celebrate.

South Port is a home by the sea. It is nestled into green parkland surroundings and is a few short blocks to the beach. Residents there are usually in need of higher care levels than Emerald Hill Residence. The design is a simple, single level for ease of use, with huge windows looking out to green views all round. The staffs there have been providing quality aged care since 1981 to a culturally diverse group of senior citizens.

Beautiful environment and design, it’s hard to believe you’re in a nursing home. The flexibility of visiting hours is a big help and pet friendly environment means we can bring our dog to visit. 24/7 care means we can rest at ease knowing mum receives medical attention when needed. I love it at Emerald Hill. The staff are wonderful; they do anything for you. It’s very pleasant place to live and there is always plenty to eat and drink a large platter of fruit on the counter. We have great cooks, if you don’t like the menu on the day they will cook something special that you would like. They do try to please, there cakes are out of this world. There are wide corridors, lovely gardens. They have tried to make it homely, the staff are great, very pleasant nothing is too much trouble. If you are into computers this is the place for you, sometimes if you run into trouble there is a computer expert here to help you out.
